Parent Partnership

Working in partnership with parents

We feel it is essential to work together with parents so that the best outcomes can be achieved for the child by sharing as much information as possible. We try and include parents in the life of the nursery and support them with all aspects of their child’s learning.

Parents’ Evenings

We have a bi-annual parents’ evening to provide the opportunity for parents to come in and talk to their child’s key person about their progress and look through their child’s development profile. Ongoing information about the nursery is shared through our monthly newsletters and daily conversations with your child’s key person.

Early Years’ Foundation Stage

22 Street Lane Nursery follow the EYFS framework in order to plan and assess the children’s learning.  Each child has an individual plan, concentrating on certain areas of learning, this is created by their keyperson whilst taking account of parents’ views.  Activities and experiences are then facilitated that will promote the next steps in their learning and observations are carried out by the staff. This helps staff to track each child’s progress and ensure that all areas of development are being fully supported. Older children take part in special group times, some adult-led and some open-ended, this provides experiences for children to work in small groups, collaborate, practice attentive listening, follow instructions whist still being able to exercise skills such as being creative and willing to have a go.  The output being that the children are able to work things out and become capable and confident learners. The children also have the opportunity to take part in regular cooking activities, forest school, dance lessons and French sessions.

Working in partnership with parents is paramount to children's learning and development. We encourage parental partnership and involvement in every aspect of your child’s care and early years education.
