World Book Day 2021

World Book Day Activities! 📚 📖

All throughout the week, we have been celebrating our favourite stories at the nursery. The Cygnets enjoyed reading ‘The Tiger Who Came to Tea’, as well as holding their very own tea party at lunchtime by filling up their very own tea plates with their favourite foods. They also worked together to make some yummy Gruffalo Crumble, which they enjoyed as a pudding. Yesterday the children came dressed as their favourite book characters, while the teachers wore costumes from the book ‘Room on the Broom’. The children loved reading through this story and even had the chance to make their own potions in the witch’s cauldron!

The Swans also had a great time celebrating World Book Day! There were some fantastic costumes and the children really enjoyed creating their very own bookmarks, sharing lots of their stories from home during carpet time with one another, and exploring our Colour Monster emotions tuff tray, especially as all the Swans teachers dressed up as the various Colour Monsters too! Everyone had a lovely day and we’re looking forward to exploring more stories through creative play in the future.
