The Drum Design Awards Shortlist 22 SLN Logo | 22 Street Lane Nursery, Leeds

The judging panel for The Drum Design Awards have revealed its finalists from a record-breaking amount of entries, ahead of the awards ceremony where the UK’s finest design agencies will gather to hear who will take the top accolades.

We are delighted that our brand design agency Elmwood are amongst the finalists in the category “Identity Design” for the design of our 22 Street Lane Nursery logo.

Children are encouraged to learn through play and proximity to nature is an important part of the nursery’s environment. Equally, there is a strong focus on the learning journey of each child and the growth of the individual. Our marque seeks to capture this by representing the growth and development of the individual child and the close bond between children and staff.

Creating distance from other nurseries, we chose to turn our back on primary-coloured plastic and childish graphics, and instead takes cues from luxury and resort branding to appeal to a more discerning clientele and their children.

Now celebrating its fourth year the Drum Design Awards are recognising the industry’s best design feats of the year. This year’s nominees were chosen by an expert panel including Kerrin Lumsden, design leader, global brands Diageo; Graham Shearsby, CCO, Design Bridge and Jonathan Ford, founding partner and CCO Pearlfisher.

The Awards will be announced at a black tie ceremony at London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square on 27 April.
