Swans Woodworking Classes

Posted on:

Our Swans class have started their Woodworking classes again! They carefully listened to the safety instructions and how to use the equipment, and popped on their safety goggles to protect their eyes.

The woodwork classes are fantastic for developing their hand-eye co-ordination, mathematics and problem-solving skills which was particularly present when measuring out square shapes on the rectangular piece of wood using a ruler!

When we began to use the saw, the children behaved wonderfully around the equipment, holding it with both hands to ensure full control of the tool and used the saw across the line. The class also looked at how to handle a hammer safely, and learnt about screws and nails, identifying the differences between them and when you would use them.

They all showed a brilliant display of teamwork, helping each other to complete the task!
