Extraordinary Early Years Staffing Opportunities
State-of-the-art nursery recruiting 30 local and regional professionals and ancillaries
In Spring 2016, the doors of an extraordinary new nursery in Roundhay, Leeds are set to open for the first time. The 22 Street Lane Nursery will offer an exceptional and innovative early learning experience for youngsters aged from three months to five years, which will be unlike any other nurseries in the local area.
In preparation, the nursery is currently recruiting up to 30 staff, with the aim of bringing together the finest early learning professionals and support team possible. This offers great opportunities for the right individuals from Leeds, Yorkshire and beyond. Having already appointed its Operations Director, other positions to be filled by the right individuals at this time, include: Nursery Manager, Deputy Manager, Room Leaders, Early Years Practitioners, Nursery Assistants, an Administrator and a qualified full time Chef.
The Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum, in which successful candidates will need a sound grounding, guides the practice of the nursery and is underpinned by the work of Montessori, Steiner and Froebel. The principles of the internationally renowned pre-schools of Reggio Emilia in northern Italy and that of the New Zealand Te Whariki framework, further enhance the core educational ethos of 22 Street Lane Nursery.
The privately-funded project is moving ahead at great pace. A former medical practice at 22 Street Lane, which has been derelict for many years, is now being transformed into a wonderland for the new nursery. The building is situated right next to one of Europe’s largest parks, Roundhay Park, which is set to play a major role in the life of the new establishment.
“Connecting children with the natural world will be inextricably woven into their everyday learning experiences within the exciting nursery garden and also the spaces of Roundhay Park,” said Caroline Pollard, owner of the 22 Street Lane Nursery.
“We are creating a unique setting and aim to achieve the highest standards, whilst providing an exceptional place for children to come and take their formative steps. As such, we are looking for highly motivated individuals who are passionate about delivering the highest level in childcare. In return, they will find themselves working in a stunning environment alongside other inspirational childcare professionals, with ongoing training and excellent career progression opportunities as part of any package.
“At present, the site is being renovated to the highest standards. We’ll have large play rooms that open out onto a large landscaped garden and which will feature an outdoor classroom, play areas, vegetable patch and much more. Art and nature are at the core of our learning. It’s such an exciting project and a great chance for early year educationalists in the region and beyond to be part of something special from the very start; I can hardly wait for the right appointments to be made and our full team to be assembled,” Pollard concluded.
