St. George’s Day 2022
25th April 2022
Last Friday we celebrated St. George’s Day at the nursery, which is England’s national day and celebrates St. George as the patron saint of England. The story goes that he rode into Silene (a town in modern-day Libya) to kill a dragon that was eating the citizens.
The children learnt about the George Cross and made their own flags using their fine-motor skills to stick different materials down to the paper using glue. They also learnt about traditional medieval armour and gear worn by knights in the Middle Ages.
