GREECE: Country of the Month

Kalimera! (Good day) – this month we are going to explore Greece as our Country of the Month, a beautiful country with a rich history, culture and a range of culinary delicacies.

Souvlaki, Tsatsiki, Mousakka are all favourites of ours and Greek Cuisine is steeped in herbs, spices, olive oil and cheese and the children will have an opportunity to try some of these at 22SLN. Greek music and dancing always finds its way into celebrations with everyone having a go at Zorba the Greek.

A deeply entrenched social custom is when Greeks share a meal with friends at home, in a restaurant or a tavern. The Greek word “symposium” – a word that is as old as Greece itself – literally means “drinking with friends”.
