West Indian Carnival Week

22 Street Lane Nursery celebrates carnival week;

Throughout the week we have had a wide range of carnival themed activities in honour of the Leeds West Indian Carnival. The most favourite activity was definitely coloured feather play, the children enjoyed it so much we set it up every day! We also explored with messy play and colourful rice play which included lemon scented play dough.

The children also enjoyed our Caribbean/ Carnival themed party. We did this by playing some Caribbean music and turning on our disco ball.
Some of the Chicklet’s then enjoyed showing us their best dance moves, while others were fascinated by the lights of the disco ball.

To end our carnival themed week we invited children to come in carnival themed clothes! The children looked fantastic wearing their bright colours. We carried on the theme during meal times and the children enjoyed tucked into some delicious avocados, mangoes, passion fruit and jerk chicken!
