Bonjour to Our New Language Session | 22 Street Lane Nursery, Leeds

22 Street Lane Nursery is delighted to announce that children will now received French classes as part of our offering.

Weekly, 30 minutes of French session will be delivered to children in the Swans room, which revolve around games, songs, rhymes and two fun characters Matou and Tounette.

The session are run by Madame Bethy, from Language Learners, who was born in Saumur (Vallée de la Loire) and has been teaching nursery and primary school children for over 5 years.

Language Learners have won recognition in the What’s on 4 Junior awards 2016 for a third year running. They use the proven structured programme La Jolie Ronde, with its nursery element being developed specifically in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.

The very first class took place yesterday, 22nd September, where our Swan children learned how to greet each other with “bonjour” and were introduced to the numbers 1 to 5. The session was thoroughly enjoyed by all, with Matau and Tounette capturing the children’s imaginations and hearts.

Caroline Pollard, owner of 22 Street Lane Nursery said: “Language development is at its most rapid in this age group, with language learning coming easily when you stimulate children’s imagination.”

“Early foreign language learning also reinforces literacy skills and nurtures children’s enthusiasm. Because of this, we are proud to be able to now provide our children with the opportunity to become familiar with the French language and culture in these fun and pressure free sessions”.
